On Wednesday, March 12, all 11th grade students will take the SAT at MMHS. Additionally, any 10th grade student who would like to take the SAT, may do so, but will need to go to see Mrs. A. Shiles, our school testing coordinator, in B125 to pay the $68 fee starting February 4th. Cash or checks made out to Mardela Middle and High School (do not abbreviate) will be accepted. The payment deadline is February 14th. All 11th grade students take the test at no cost. If you have any questions, please see the testing coordinator, Mrs. April Shiles in her office B125 or via email at ashiles@mywcps.org . More information about the SAT will be coming in the weeks ahead.

February 3rd-7th is National School Counseling Week! Sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), this week highlights the vital role school counselors play in supporting students' success and future planning.
A huge thank you to Mr. Hollamon and Mrs. Bose for being a constant source of support and stability for students, especially during times of change and challenge, both in and outside of school. Your encouragement and unwavering presence help students feel seen and cared for. We appreciate how you go above and beyond, connecting students and families with local resources for food, housing, mental health services, and so much more.
Thank you for guiding students toward their future by providing them with thoughtful resources and opportunities to explore different paths. Your work ensures that every student is empowered to create a strong, successful future.
We also want to thank you for creating a welcoming and safe space, and for your tireless advocacy. You always know how to support our students, working creatively to remove barriers to their learning and social connections, all while putting their needs first.
Thank you for making a difference in students' lives, one day at a time.
Students, this week we challenge you to thank your counselor! Maybe give them a friendly fist bump whenever you see them as a small but meaningful gesture of appreciation for everything they do.
We would also like to give a huge shout out to an extension of our counseling office, Ms. Rhodes, our Career Coach. Let’s take a moment to recognize the incredible impact career coaches have on shaping the career paths and futures of our students. Career coaches are not only guiding the next generation of professionals but also helping students discover fulfilling careers they truly deserve. We celebrate the progress made with their support and extend a heartfelt thank you to our very own MMHS Career Coach.
Thank you all for your unwavering dedication, guidance, enthusiasm, and positive energy that you bring to Mardela every single day.

MMHS JUNIORS...SAVE THE DATE = Free SAT to all Juniors on March 12, 2025. Since we are giving you a free SAT March 12th, we do not recommend you pay to also take the weekend SAT offered in March. You have access to free SAT prep through bluebook, college board and Kaplan. Take advantage of it!

MaKayla Camper (7th grade), won 2nd place in the MLK Jr. Character Award at the MLK Youth Day Celebration. She was nominated by her Pastor, and as part of the nomination process, questions like the following had to be answered:
• Why should this student receive the MLK Jr. Character Award?
• How does this student embody the qualities that honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy?
MaKayla, a proud member of St. Luke (your faith-based partner), truly represented MMHS with excellence.
