Students in the Young Business Leaders Signature School Program are currently creating a Business Model Canvas (BMC) of all the key components needed to create a business in our Innoventure Lab with Mrs. Carpenter. Students have started creating this Business Model by identifying the Problem, the Customer, and the Solution. Next, they outline the other factors entrepreneurs consider when building a business: Unique Value Proposition of their solution, costs, metrics, revenue, selling channels, and customer relationships.

Wicomico County Public Schools and the Wicomico County Board of Education extend their condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of former Superintendent of Schools William T. "Bill" Middleton III. Mr. Middleton served the school system for 40 years and continued to serve his community and public education long after his retirement.

Originally hired as a member of the summer paint crew and then as a teacher, Mr. Middleton held a number of positions with the school system, retiring after serving as Superintendent of Schools from 1995 to 2002. He was also a renowned auctioneer, and for many years hosted Travelogue presentations.

We are thankful for the many years he spent with Wicomico County Public Schools, from his time as a student in Pittsville to his years as superintendent.. Learn more about Mr. Middleton: https://www.hollowayfh.com/obituaries/William-T-Bill-Middleton-Iii?obId=45393379

Our Theatre and Dance Track of the Wicomico Middle Program for the Arts competed in a theater scavenger hunt yesterday where they worked in teams to decipher hints pertaining to theatrical vocabulary and topics, while navigating the crucial pieces that create a performance space. We are blessed to have a theatre space to support our program. The Wicomico Middle Program for the Arts is an engaging and dynamic initiative designed to nurture creativity and self-expression among students. For the 2025-2026 school year, we are excited to offer two tracks within the program for Wicomico Middle enrolled students: Theatre and Dance, and Graphic Arts. The program encourages young artists to explore their talents while developing essential skills like teamwork, critical thinking, and confidence. Through hands-on workshops, collaborative projects, and performances, students are inspired to create and innovate, all while building a supportive community that celebrates diverse artistic voices. Whether they’re designing an interactive media piece, composing original music, or performing on stage, students are empowered to discover and share their unique artistic identities. #Inspire. #Create. #Transform.

Scenes from a celebration: Check out the joy today as all of Wicomico High School packed the auditorium to celebrate WiHi ESOL teacher and 2025-2026 Wicomico Teacher of the Year Emma Cohn Matthews for being one of seven finalists for Maryland Teacher of the Year! Superintendent of Schools Dr. Micah Stauffer and Principal Dr. Undrea Blake were delighted to have the WiHi band, cheerleaders, and all students and staff join in the celebration.

Mrs. Cohn Matthews will have her state panel interview soon. The Maryland Teacher of the Year Gala will be held Sept. 26, ending with the announcement of one of the finalists as the next Maryland Teacher of the Year. Good luck, Mrs. Cohn Matthews! You're an excellent representative of your school and school system, and of all Wicomico teachers.

Mrs. Branham, Mr. Binns, Mrs. Lasinski, Mrs. Smith and Mr. Gooch showed their cooking skills along with their love and dedication for our outstanding staff. We cooked over 270 pancakes, 260 sausages, and had 5 fruit trays to give them a pancake, sausage, fruit, and juice breakfast.. The staff loved it. We are Wicomico Middle School. Wicomico Middle School teachers were back to work with morning welcoming PD's and what an exciting, hyped, and enthusiastic time we had. Because this year we have a sports theme we welcomed our first year teachers to the team with a reallife teacher draft with each teacher being introduced and drafted by AP Binns and they had hype music and they took pictures with head coach Principal Branham as they received their jerseys. We introduced transfer teachers as if they were preseason trades. We are ready to go for our students. Like any sports team. Our motto is this is our year to win the championship. Warriors on three...One, Two, Three WARRIORS!!!!!! Can I get a whoop whoop!!! 🖤💛💪🏾
