Mr. Kimandi Binns, known to many as "Kimmy," hails from Bermuda where he was born and raised. His journey in education and athletics has been marked by notable achievements and dedicated service. He pursued higher education on a full athletic scholarship at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, graduating with both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education in Special Education. Mr. Binns commenced his teaching career in Bermuda, where he taught five years at the elementary level before transitioning to Mardela Middle and High School in the United States. There, he spent twelve years as a Special Education teacher, also taking on leadership roles as head coach for boys’ soccer and assistant coach in basketball. His commitment extended beyond the classroom as he actively participated in various school committees.

Advancing into administration, Mr. Binns began his administrative tenure at James M. Bennett High School as the Dean of Students. He later assumed roles as an assistant principal and administrator of athletics, showcasing his leadership and management acumen. In November 2020, he joined West Salisbury Elementary as assistant principal and subsequently served as principal for two years. Mr. Binns’ love for adolescents and teenagers has brought him back to the secondary level.

Mr. Binns has maintained a profound interest in sports, a passion that earned him induction into the UMES Hall of Fame for his contributions to soccer. Beyond his professional endeavors, he finds joy in family life alongside his wife, Twynette Binns, who is also an assistant principal in Wicomico County. Together, they are proud parents to two daughters, one son, and doting grandparents to three granddaughters. Mr. Binns continues to embody a steadfast dedication to education, athletics, and the well-being of young people, embodying leadership and commitment in all facets of his life and career.

Melissa Lasinski

Mrs. Melissa Lasinski

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Lasinski was born and raised in Audubon, New Jersey. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Mathematics from Salisbury University and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix. Mrs. Lasinski spent ten years as a middle school math teacher, math and science facilitator, and dean of students in Somerset County prior to working for Wicomico County Public Schools. Mrs. Lasinski served as Salisbury Middle School’s Dean of Students and testing coordinator during the 2023-2024 school year prior to being promoted to Assistant Principal at Wicomico Middle School. She strives to build relationships with the staff, students, and community members in order to create an environment that’s conducive to student success. Mrs. Lasinski is excited to be a part of the amazing WMS administrative team! She enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and three children, traveling, and watching football (Go Eagles!).
